A Day in a Life at The Maileg Mouse Castle

Inspiration for Decorating The Castle

Maileg castles and castle hall

Whatever it is, the way you tell your story can make all the difference.

Preparing a Royal Breakfast

Each morning, Chef Mouse wakes up bright and early to prepare a delicious breakfast for the royal majesties in the castle kitchen. He is a well-renounced Chef who has worked at the best mouse restaurants around. Being a chef at the Maileg Mouse Castle is his favourite job yet because he can experiment with different recipes and play with the royal twins during his free time.

He loves the castle’s kitchen because it has everything he needs from cooler to stove top, to sink. Chef likes to sip on a warm cup of tea while he works. This morning, he’s making pastries, extra cheesy eggs, and waffles. The food smells so delicious, he had to do a little taste test for himself.

Morning Bubbles

On the right wing of the Maileg Mouse Castle, the royals begin to wake up from their beauty sleep. They smell the yummy breakfast that the chef is preparing for them.

Sister Mouse likes to start her mornings with a relaxing bubble bath in the castle bathroom while Brother Mouse likes to sleep in until breakfast is ready. It looks like Sister Mouse might have added a little too many bubbles this morning!

Royal Brunchin’

The royals head to Castle Hall for their delicious breakfast.

On most days, the exquisite hall is used as a Dining Room, but at night, it transforms into a scene for royal balls and parties. The beautiful gold chairs and highchairs are all set for the royal majesties.

They each take their place at the table with much anticipation to see what Chef Mouse has prepared for them. Waiter Mouse, looking dapper as ever, swiftly carries their meals to the table and presents them with their glorious breakfast. Can you guess what their favourite breakfast is?

Afternoons on The Terrace

On nice days, the mice enjoy afternoon tea on the terrace. Prince Mouse and Princess Mouse can laugh and chat for hours as they relax on the garden set. They discuss the upcoming ball that they plan to host to celebrate their birthdays. Waiter refills their tea and enjoys birdwatching from the balcony. There are so many sights to see from the terrace, so they often get caught up in long games of I-Spy.

Naptime for Babies

Meanwhile, it’s naptime for the babies in the Maileg nursery. The maid brings the pair up to their room so they can rest in their cradles.

The babies adore Maid Mouse because she makes them giggle and takes good care of them.

Baby girl is very sleepy and goes down almost immediately. On the other hand, baby boy needs some convincing. Maid Mouse brings baby boy out to the balcony and gently rocks him as they look out the window together. She sings baby his favourite nursery rhyme and before you know it, baby is fast asleep – success!

Cosy Evenings by The Fire

As day turns to night, the royals congregate in the living room to warm up by the fire. The heat feels nice and makes them sleepy as they cosy up in their velvety chairs. Chef Mouse serves them their favourite bedtime snack, macaroons! Sometimes, the family plays games like tic tac toe or duck duck goose. On other nights they will just relax and hang out together.

Sweet Dreams

The mice make their way to the bedrooms to settle in for the night. They change into their comfy PJ’s and cosy up in bed. They like to read their favourite bedtime stories before dosing off. Sister Mouse likes the story of the Princess and the Pea and Brother Mouse enjoys Jack and the Beanstalk. They drift off dreaming of their favourite stories.

There are endless stories to be told with the Maileg Mouse Castle. Encourage your child to use their imagination with these play prompts.
